Miriam O'Connor

Miriam's final year project explores psychopathology in adolescence looking at pubertal timing and how it predicts psychological well being. This is a quantitative study using statistical analysis to examine the stability of self-competence including self-worth during adolescence and also examines the influence of predictors such as pubertal timing, anxiety and depression. Changes in pubertal development, cognitive abilities, emotion processing and self-identity, can increase the level of self-reflection leading to changes in self-competencies during this period of development.
