The Exploring Psychobiological Research Onboarding Conditions study is designed to explore how effective chatbots are at onboarding research participants in comparison to human research assistants. This study examines whether chatbot assisted onboarding can help improve participant confidence and comprehension during studies involving biological sample collection, but this study will NOT ask participants to collect biological samples.

We are seeking young adults aged 18-25 to participate. Participation involves an onboarding session with either a chatbot or a researcher online or in person. Participants should not have participated in research using biological sampling before including blood, stool, saliva, hair or urine. After completing either human or chatbot onboarding, you will be asked to complete a short Qualtrics survey about your comfort, understanding and confidence in completing sampling. Participation takes approximately 20-30 minutes. This research is being carried out by BA Psychology and Computing  research dissertation students and is supervised by Samantha Dockray and Sabin Tabirca.
