Siobhán O'Neill
Siobhán O’Neill completed her BA in Applied Psychology at University College Cork in 2012. Siobhán is currently completing her PhD in UCC under the supervision of Dr. Samantha Dockray.
Siobhán’s research examines associations between sleep and stress during adolescence and young adulthood and how these influence health and wellbeing. The work draws upon psychophysiological models of stress and examines how these contribute to weight change and health outcomes in adolescence. The research also investigates genetic and phenotypic expressions of sleep preference and how these, in combination with technology use at bedtime, may affect the health and weight status of adolescents and young people. Siobhán’s PhD is funded by the Irish Research Council.
